The Arctic Club Hotel Seattle is currently seeking a hotel Controller.

Summary of position: 

  • Nurture, supervise, develop and counsel property related accounting staff.
  • Monitor all accounting functions at the property level.
  • Prepare the financial statements along with General Manager/Property Controller within the time frames supplied by the corporate closing schedule and according to the Company Policies and Procedures, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and the Uniform System of Accounts.
  • Analyze and interpret financial results in order to assist and advise the General Manager.
  • Maintain balance sheet analysis on a monthly basis with full supporting detail.
  • Prepare accurate cash flow statements and projections on a monthly basis and on request.
  • Work with General Manager to maintain effective system and control procedures as set forth in the policies and procedures manuals.
  • Ensure that all financial reports, forecasts, and other information required are accurately compiled and submitted within the specified time limits.
  • Ensure all legal, treasury, and tax documentation is properly maintained and secured.
  • Work with General Manager and Director of Operations to ensure adequate controls are installed and maintained for the protection of the hotels' assets against loss or misappropriation.
  • Successfully perform annual internal control audits at property level.
  • Assure that properties meet internal audit standards.
  • Demonstrate positive leadership qualities that inspire other Hotel Group employees to meet and exceed standards.
  • Manage, monitor, and maintain construction/renovation related accounting when necessary.

Qualifications: 

  • BA or BS in Accounting or finance preferred.
  • Previous hospitality experienced required.
  • M-3 Experience required.
  • Computer and network literate.
  • Ability to create ad hoc spreadsheets and reports.
  • Ability to communicate statistical and financial data in the executive and entry levels.
  • Be able to teach training seminars offered to property level staff.
  • Travel will be required. Adjust to schedule changes on short notice.
